London SE1 7NN

Sat 20 - Sun 21 November 2011

Submit2gravity were proud to be the organizers of one in a series of innovative and surprising art events, that took place throughout 2010 at the Old Vic Tunnels. The event was coordinated by Submit2gravity and curated by Rita Parente and evolved from an open submission call out that led to some exciting and unusual proposals received from across the globe.

Exploring the mysterious and strange, as the name of the event would suggest, the event brought together an extraordinary, innovative and diverse range of art forms with dramatic and surprising results. Kinetic sculptures, interactive installation, visual and sound pieces and theatre groups all interacted within the unique setting to create a strange wonderland of curiosities.

From entering via a little door The Old Vic Tunnels acts like a tardis as it opens out into a labyrinth of unexpected tunnels, corridors and huge vaults, which enticed you further and further into a surreal and dreamlike world that becomes curiouser and curiouser...

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
